reflection on the current environment vs the past year tells me the whip saw phenom has gone exponential (and become virtually ubiquitous) after building up for over 12 months in the markets.

We see it in temp forecasting, NR stocks, monetary policy and the broad market indices.

Not a healthy development. Wild erratic ST volatility evidences the kind of economic instability that is a symptom of a cyclical top in the broad stock market.
