See bold: Oil will climb up to USD60

I thought I was the only nut who figures oil will settle in at $ 50 plus.

Pensions will be the word ‘du jour’ as Bush start trying to revamp the system in the US. Note that senior editors of the popular press are most likely above 50 and will be publish against it.

What revamp proposal do you see them protesting? "Talk of Changing Pension Math Raises Concern on Benefit Cuts"

IOW what will the "revamp" look like?

This sort of thing takes ten years to take shape. This year, i see it only to the top of the agenda. Bush is going to be called radical.

Talks of Eurosclerosis will dominate the year. This time is for real. Europe is going back to irrelevance.

I'm surprised at this because I thought that their ability to capitalize on their stepped back love affair with America would give them access.

They have been acquiring markets and oomph at a big pace. But look to 'new Europe - as Cheney call the Eastern Europeans (Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland). They are as old as Old Europe. The demographics of Europe is going to start biting... And they can't bring in Maurice's 'Chimps', albeit they are going to take Turkey in.

Only the British have the ability to capitalize on their stepped back love affair with America The British are very selective, they pinch from Europe what suit them, (see them attacking America over the Airbus-Boeing subsidy row. They have an interest in Airbus) and pinch from America idem (see them supporting Iraq war because North Sea oil is dwindling

Scramble to get out of the grey areas. If companies want to survive this 2005 they have to increase rapidly the scramble for where the consumers are. In short do an Am Bev.

Am Bev ??? See posting Message 20966575;

Commodities? More –much more of the same.

and for a long time I suspect.

Automakers will suffer dearly.

Cars from China to the US at 30-40% less will get attention. Too early yet, this is 2007. Hyundai quality and 40% less sticker. This is more the 2005 case.

Thanks for your peek into the future
