Is there another case in history where when a state of war existed, that one country offered to return land to people who were supporters of the invaders? That seems to be what Ben Gurion is doing and it is no surprise at all. From the beginning the Israelis needed to live in peace in their neighborhood. How many times have they offered land for peace. Even in 1967 with labor in control, when the west bank was taken in war, the israelis built settlement to jar the arab states into accepting reality--Israels existance. The fact that it didnt work is certainly not solely Israels fault. Mike
