Frankly, the best thing for the Middle East would be to have fewer tyrants in power, theocrats or bureaucrats. Fewer tyrants would allow the Muslims in the Middle East to start focusing more on improving their own lives rather than reaching outside of the Middle East to destroy the lives of others. So the U.S. interests are integrally tied to the interests of Middle Easterners. More liberty for them, less trouble for us.

Why is it you are willing to give Iraq time to become a democracy.....even very violently........but you are not willing to give Iran time to evolve naturally into a democratic nation? Is the goal democracy, or letting us have our way?
