re: Iran is a global sponsor of terrorism. So to me, it seems like a logical next step.
There have been "Global Sponsors of Terrorism" for a long time. If you are talking about states, probably fewer now than ever. The world is not Shangri-la; get used to it. You could die of cancer, your could die of heart disease, you could get hit by a truck while taking a Sunday morning stroll. The least likely event is that you get killed in a terrorist attack. Remember, terrorism twice in US history... both by the same guy, and Bush didn't get him when he had the chance. And that's why bin Laden is a hero now, Bush gave him his power.
re: Let's hope Europe wins. If they don't, then U.S. military force will be required, whether covert or overt.
What we need is to get the fuck out of the Middle East. If a bunch of Arab, Muslim countries were invading our region, trying to dictate our form of government, wouldn't you object? Try to have a bit of empathy, try to put yourself in their place. I would be an insurgent; most people I know would be an insurgent. Except we would certainly call ourselves patriots and freedom fighters.
Their government is not out fight, never has been. The more troops we send, the more terrorists/insurgents we create (not that that is a huge danger at home).
Bush is the second president since we became the "worlds only super power". And already we are trying to determine the course of the world. And it's breaking our backs, it's so obvious. Absolute power corrupts... and all that crap. The Geneva Conventions are "quaint", we sound like the Soviets or the Nazi's. Any threat to our power--- send in our military, WE ARE THE SUPER POWER!!!
If you want to know the real threat to the US, ask, I'll tell you. It's not in the ME.
