I must say that if I have to ban a bunch of people again--it is a very long time until Christmas!
Ok. Well, just an observation. We were talking about effective parenting the other day and I questioned your authenticity in providing experiential perspectives. However, your approach to thread monitoring seems like a parent to child type of perspective rather than adult to adult… particularly your inconsistent and hypocritical approach to “I will have to admonish people, which I find very boring”.
Analogy: There was a mother who had two children. Mommy was always having tea with her friends while supervising the children. One day the little boy was not behaving according to mommy’s approval, while playing with his sister. So, mommy says, “calm things down junior.” Junior ignored her and got louder and more aggressive. So, mommy threatened junior with unspecific disciplinary action. Junior went right on with his behavior, so mommy raised her voice to make sure he got the point. No change. So mommy began screaming, “STOP TWISTING YOUR SISTER’S ARM, STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT or you are really going to get it.” Still junior persisted so finally mommy said, “OK now you’ve done it… bring it here and I’ll see if I can get it back on.” |
