The Watson Youth - AKA Andy Grave

How would I know what the MSS will be and why is it so important that I guess? I'd prefer to discuss what it is.

To my knowledge Opteron volumes have been around 100K per quarter. I've perfectly happy if someone has a better number, please post it. Intel's recent comments suggest they will ship at least 10X that in Q1 in the form of EM64T Xeon processors plus all other Xeon versions. AMD will likely ship more Opterons than in past quarters but how much is unknown. If you have actual statements from AMD or a reputable source then post them and we can discuss it. It looks to me as though the huge upsurge of EM64T volumes in addition to all other Xeon SKUs confirms that there is a real demand for x86-64 that was going unfulfilled before Intel's entry. Here's your chance to offer an opinion on why AMD was unable to deliver more than the meager Opteron volumes they've been confirmed to have delivered in the past.
