What Cheney has to say about Iran issue now.
nytimes.com
------------------------------------------

From the Cheney interview, we can see Cheney himself now wants to deal with the Iran Issue diplomatically. And he also hinted that if Israel wants to attack Iran, it's up to Israel itself.

Clearly, Israel and the US neocon ally always want to stop Iran’s nuclear program even that may mean military actions or their Middle East dream will break.

But the key problem is, even Israel and the most hawkish neocons themselves are now hesitating about the military action against Iran, apparently due to:
1. The uncertainty about whether the military strike can effectively eliminate Iran's nuclear program in all secret locations;
2. The Iranian's retaliations against Israel with its new missiles and “terrorist” strikes can be disastrous.
3. Further political and diplomatic consequences after military attack against Iran.
4. The neocons has been burned by the Iraq war(Israel has also suffered diplomatically), it's time to lick the wounds rather than risking more burns.

The head and the heart of the war party

The risk of military action is more big backfire, we should negotiate (the war party's head part).

Israel and the neocons cannot wait, because the Iranians continue to build the bomb. Negotiation will never work, military strike is the only option to get the job done. (the war party's heart part).

So we are seeing that Israel and US neocons’ are jumping up and down on the Iran issue nowadays. To strike or not to strike, the heart is now wrestling against the head.

Their head seems somehow on top at this time, according to some recent signs. Let's see what's up next.
