I don't want to criticize or make light of your own personal belief system, Joe. Whatever people believe, whatever makes their lives better, is fine with me as long as they don't do something evil with it or force me to believe in it as well.

But really, the Gospels are not the words of Jesus. They were written for political reasons at different times in the several hundred years after his death, disagree with each other, and for the most part do not represent the words or spirit of Jesus, who seems to have been a member of the gentle, women's rights affirming, mostly vegetarian Essenes sect. Jesus would hate all of your Randian beliefs, just for starters, because they are so smugly selfish. He never said one word about homosexuality, and many Christians today are living lives that are not in accordance with his teachings or his value system. Talk about taking someone's name in vain!
