I agree with most of what you said. The U.S. should have made a lot more progress by now. It's a symptom of an administration that lays out great visions and then botches the execution. I also think that the U.S. has been trying to train soldiers as fast as they can, but the Iraqis cut and run whenever real fighting begins. That has been the biggest impediment to a U.S. withdrawal.

As far as other Arab countries helping...well, that's laughable. Indonesia and the other Muslim countries impacted by the tsunami couldn't even count on a decent sized amount of assistance from those same Arab countries that would provide training for Iraq solidiers. If they can't find it in their heart to provide monetary assistance to natural disaster victims, what makes you think they'll find it in their heart to help Iraqis build a democracy?
