YOu make think it is fashionable to send my kids to private schools, but I think it is a necessity, just as my parents felt it was. The public school system is in a shambles. Only the rich areas have good public schools. There is no accountability in public schools. Kids are more likely to get in trouble, scores are lower, university acceptance is lower, access to drugs are higher, it takes an act of God to get an incompetent teacher fired, and the list goes on.

My entire education was in public schools. I never felt it put me at a disadvantage. A couple of years ago, I took my GREs in prep. for going to grad school and both were near 700. There are good and bad private schools and there are good and bad public schools......just like everything else.

And yes, I think its very fashionable today to send your kids to private school.........under the guise, that the competition requires it but with the second proviso....to circumvent the integration required by public schools.

As far as fashion and fad goes, what HAS become fashionable among the liberal left is to demean Americans and their values and to stand up for personal choice when it comes to killing babies or same sex marriage. Unfortunately for the liberal left, we live in a country that is largely Christian. Unfortunately for the liberal left Christian values don't move with the latest shift of the wind, which is why our decisions don't to align with the latest Hollywood fad.

Abortion is not a new fad. Its been in place since 1970. Furthermore, there were very good reasons for legalizing abortions. Reasons the right chooses to ignore.......then and now.
