Military "science" has killed but a fraction of the number of people that poor hygiene or bad food, lack of food, the availability of medical treatment, or civil engineering has saved.

This is similar to the problem with Teflon. Well, sure its bad to have Teflon monomer in the environment. But once it is formulated into a solid, it has probably saved WAY MORE than its toxic monomer has killed. Are we to condemn geology because a few miners died? Or that some geologists were swept down rivers while doing surveys? Religion hasn't really got much of a track record for saving lives, now does it?

As for Military Science, it is, at best, a social science that is approached with a technical rigor when done well.
