Yes, I certainly can understand that. Thinking about economics for a second, that's exactly why Greenspan and company spend so much energy smoothing out the ups and downs. No one likes a roller coaster.
That is why I have mentioned before that what we need are moderates in the White House, NOT Hillary Clinton-types or Bush types, but people who can find the middle ground.
I believed that Clinton in some ways was moderate, but in other ways, especially morals, was very to the left. That created an imbalance, which snapped the country to the right. It didn't hurt that Bush was around to capitalize at the right time. Now because Bush is so far right, we will eventually have a snap back to the left.
The good in all this is that we don't get stuck to the far right or far left for too long. The bad, as you pointed out, is that wild swings can lead to an unstable country, and people, economies, and stock markets like stability. |
