RE: "No good being too doctrinaire, especially when one wants to promote free discussion."

That was my idea anyhow, and the reason behind specifying that nothing be considered off topic here. There were quite a few topics of interest brought up on the other board such as Project Northwoods, the JFK assassination, FDR and Pearl Harbor, vote fraud, WMD fraud, Cointelpro, and peak oil, just to name a few. While much of it establishes the MO of those behind 9/11, the discussions often veered to a point where the main discussion got lost. Those discussions then tended to be followed by a few dozen posts related to the subject of off topicness, which made it even harder to get back on track.

I figured if it was stipulated that nothing was off topic, it would at least save the discussions from OT finger pointing, and allow anyone who wanted to jump in, with discussions on anything from crooked market makers to the new world order, to do so at will.

I have a rather high opinion of open debate. My view is if a point is valid, it will eventually be established as such. If a thing is not true, it doesn't become more true by inhibiting debate on the subject.
