Oh, there's still a left out there, it wasn't "the center" that Michael Moore was appealing to. But Powers is just pointing out the current intellectual bankruptcy of a left that has a douchebag like Michael Moore as its chief "intellectual", and I use the word loosely. Face it, the right used its time in the minority to revise its ideas; if the left ever hopes to win another election, they had better follow suit.

All the lame whining about how it was Kerry's fault and Bush won with "the fear thing" (there was a little incident on 9/11/2001 that was responsible for "the fear thing", which you seem to have forgotten altogether) just adds up to more of the same in the future. Kerry ran as Janus because he is a political windvane and the left and the center of his own party demanded two contradictory positions of him.
