lisa,

20" (or 19) aren't much smaller than 21", footprint wise. 17" monitors are a good compromise if you're using conventional furniture. There are many excellent 17" monitors. Viewsonic, NEC, Nanao, and Hitachi are my favorites.

As for spec's, the better the spec's the more the price (within brands) usually. I have an upgrade guide at home that specifically reviews 17" monitors.
I'll take a look, if you want.
Here's some recomendations:

Viewsonic 17PS
NEC P750
Nanao T2-17TS

To avoid seam lines, specifically ask if monitor has trinitron tube or look for a spec like .25AG (Aperture Grid I think) and avoid it. The best thing, if possible, is to be able to look at what you're buying.

You should save ~$800 over the 21".

BTW, I have the APM Jan 40's . Please turn us on to more of your favorite stocks. Went long MOT and AMD this morning.
