Bush said our long term goal is the eradication of tyranny, yet we make short term alliances that seem counter to that goal. Our short term alliance with tyrannical Saudi Arabia has lasted.....for Saudi Arabia's entire existence. That's not short term strategic thinking - its complete hypocrisy for a president who claims to actively promote freedom throughout the world. Why does Bush object to Syria and Iran, and not even mention the Saudis when they are among the most oppressive, restrictive, non-free society on the planet?
