Saddam would have continued to be irrelevant to our security interests. Al Qaida would have been greatly diminished if we had focused on them as our primary objective. We would have multiple options for dealing with a range of real security threats such as North Korea. Arafat would have died and peace prospects would depend on the will of both sides -- in short, we would be far better off and far safer -- Iraq would be a mess left to be dealt with a later time, but the situation would most likely have moved along with continued inspections -- we might have been forced to accept the truth about Iraq -- no wmds, no threat.
