Good question. However, how can you be Christian and for abortion or gay marriage? It's a pretty large contradiction. It's sort of like saying I'm a Christian, but I don't believe in Christ.

To my knowledge, Christ never talked about abortion or gay marriage, let alone banned them. What I do believe is that we must be tolerant of each other. Christ was chastised by his followers and others for being kind and accepting of Mary Magdalene. The religious right of that day were deeply offended and critical, and made it known to Christ.

As a Christian, I take my page from Christ and not from the religious right. They were unpleasant back then and they are unpleasant now, and IMO are the least Christian among us.
