Alan, My post's point WAS NOT to deny that there is a substantial group of investors who "Buy-and-hold" their equity investments. MY POINT WAS to wonder about Bob's point that the number of such "buy-and-Hold" investors who hold their conviction to such an extreme that they attack those who believe differently through the media and the internet - to wonder whether or not such people are numberous enough to form a so-called "Church of Buy-and-Hold" as Bob refers to them. My point is that it makes no sense for a normal person to attack other investors who hold investment philosophies that differ from one's own investment philosophy. Bob is probably sensitive to this "Church-of-Buy-and Hold" because a few nut cases have indeed attacked him personally since he is a visable public figure on the radio each weekend making market timing calls which can be wrong at times. If Bob weren't out there, I'd speculate that we would not be hearing of such a church or group from any other source. JMHO P.S. I miss the old SI post format! P
