Interesting.

I think the author has a point.

I also think that some of the other offered explanations
have merit. (This is based on anecdotal evidence of such
preferences on the part of certain former colleagues. I remember one guy telling me that he just couldn't understand it. In the States, he'd go to a singles bar and the women
wouldn't give him a second look. In Thailand, he went to a bar where the girls wear things like thigh high boots and minis. These girls evidently had more taste since
they were all over him like a cheap suit and more than accommodating.....needless to say, I didn't explain the reasons to him. I generally try not to deflate egos like that.<g>)

Overall, I don't have any strong opinions on the subject.
I figure that women who are self-confident and like
being women will probably attract the kind of man who appreciates those attributes.

Men who feel they need to be superior will make choices
appropriate to that preference. I suspect that this group of men may be in for some surprises if the relationship
goes beyond the casual....BWDIK.

As for dress styles, I think westerners, as a very generalized
group, have become way too sloppy about their appearances.
That goes for both men and women.

I've never been that way and find it a turn-off when I see it.
