It is too early for Abbas to confront anyone. Last thing that is needed is civil war among pals. Thats gets us nowhere. Whats needed is small steps. Talk to the terror and sell them on temporary cease fires. Get the pal people vested in peace with better facts on the ground for them like Easier movement on the WB and Israeli pullout from Gaza. 6 months of peace may be viewed by Hamas as an opportunity to regroup but it is a much greater opportunity for the folks who want peace. Dont go stubborn on me Nadine--there are many reasons to be skeptical but Sharon aint Barak and Abu Mazen aint Arafat and Bush aint Clinton. There will be no kissing opps and handshakes with this bunch--this will be hard headed deal making if it is to work. Mike
