It would be great to have SI portfolios back! In the meantime, I have no problem providing periodic updates. Glad I can finally contribute something to the SI biotech community.
Following are contestants' portfolio values as of the close on Friday, January 21 (31 contestants in total). I would like to use this as the test (this way we avoid the impact of today's ugliness, anyway <g>). If everyone at some point over the next, say, 10 months or so <g> could take a look and see if they agree with what I calculated. No need to contact me if you agree -- just let me know if I have something wrong.
One portfolio (Archimedes')has a $15,000 short position -- I have included that for now and hopefully correctly accounted for it. Not sure if shorts are allowed (I have not seen anything written for the previous contests that explicitly prohibits it). I guess Mike will have to make the final call. If disallowed, Archimedes will need to add another long pick or allocate the $15,000 among the long positions.
The post that follows this will include the closing prices as of December 31, 2004 and January 21, 2005 (I made at least one correction to the list I previously posted).
