Yes, I realize everything we use has some environmental impact. Still, I think there is a huge difference between the impact of heating water and having Teflon oozing out of every pore. And most importantly, I think this kind of argument often serves as an excuse for people to just throw up their hands and do whatever (which I think is specious, obviously).

To me, it is sort of like saying we might as well eat cows because plants have feelings, too. This is a line of unreasoning that is often used by meat eaters in an attempt to make vegetarians look ridiculous.
