Did a bit of research for this company (wound healing) when it was Tri-Point. The big problem with existing cyanoacrylates (super glues) is that they are not biodegradable - they stay around in the wound. The big effort was to find a biodegradable glue to close the skin edges instead of surures. That's what we're looking at here. Takes a lot of testing and clinical trials to come up with the right formulation so competition will be tough to get FDA approval for use in the US. I think this can be used for deeper lacerations as well as long as the deep tissues are closed with sutures - then approximate the skin edges with glue - no sutures to take out. I think it will also gain rapid acceptance in the OR too, not only in the ER. I'm waiting to buy more on dips. Good luck to all.
