GenoMed Mourns Johnny Carson Tuesday January 25, 9:30 am ET
ST. LOUIS, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GenoMed, Inc. (Pink Sheets: GMED - News; "the Company" or "GenoMed"), a St. Louis, Missouri-based Next Generation DM(TM) company that finds disease genes in order to improve management of diseases, announced today its sadness at Johnny Carson's death from emphysema. GenoMed has discovered that an extremely safe class of drugs called ACE inhibitors can slow down emphysema. ACE stands for "angiotensin converting enzyme." In 2002, GenoMed published that a patient who was going to die in a few weeks from end-stage emphysema was able to improve and stay out of the hospital for seven more years.
Said Dr. David Moskowitz, CEO of GenoMed, "We mourn the passing of Johnny Carson two days ago. Like many beloved Americans who have died from emphysema, such as Dean Martin, Mayor Coleman Young, Leonard Bernstein, and Buster Keaton, we have lost a national treasure. We want to alert those suffering from this awful disease that help is available."
