Are they talking about solid-state digital videocameras???

I think they must be...."digital video recorder" is usually used to refer to a TiVo but they dont use anywhere near that amount of flash.

One thing is for sure, the spot price for 2GB and 4GB flash chips has risen substantially over the last week. They are now well above what the contract prices were on January 14th.

I really sort of doubt that the rise is due to camcorders though....it still seems like the vast majority of camcorders are in the miniDV format.

My guess would be that this price increase is either being driven by new demand from flash MP3 players or that Micron's problems really are hitting flash prices. Since Mircon really isnt a large player yet in flash, I am hoping that it is the former scenario. The iPOD Shuffle has been sold out on Amazon whenever I have looked but it is still the 7th and 8th best selling electronic items. The Sandisk 256MB player is now 6th and the 1GB and 512MB versions have also moved up the best seller lists.
