Yes, the problem with the sort of evidence you are giving is whether it is simply societal acknowledgement of homosexuality. Does societal acceptance lead to people choosing homosexuality? That is a different, and AFIAK, unanswered question. It can certainly lead to more practicing homosexuals.

Conversely, societal pressure certainly leads many homosexuals to attempt to lead heterosexual lives. I have known some such individuals. They usually divorce later in life, leaving a startled wife and kids.
