Melting ice caps don't cause earthquakes because they aren't melting and because if they are they are too trivial compared with major proximate events such as monstrous subduction of oceanic crust, kilometres thick, trundling along, grinding their way into the depths of the Earth, shaking, rattling and rolling as they go.
