lp -- for the near-term -- the overvalued USD has made the mainstream press in a BIG way. I heard a piece on NPR this morning with the main news guy asking some questions which were to the point of some currency xpert from Britain. He asked specifically about the dependence of our interest rates on treasury purchases by Japan and China. After hearing that this morning, I figured we'd bounce at least short term. Look, this seemed to have outweighed even the fact that Bush has asked for another 80B for Iraq ... Iraq is a sinkhole that is not going away even after the election. Even if the repubs should cut some domestic programs at this pt -- deficits are going to do nothing but expand, expand, expand ... while revenues ....

The next phase probably begins by the fall. Folks start realizing it is "all paper" --

we're already in the beggar thy neighbor phase. The whining is about to reach a crescendo, it would appear.
