Looks like a 'sell on news' reaction by the market following big blue's earnings last week.
For the last few years I've bought near the money January puts the day after the Jan earnings with mixed fortune. In 2003 I doubled my money in one trading day. In Jan 2004 lost it all (though I should have realised that by releasing their earnings several weeks ahead of schedule that they knew they would beat the 'whisper'), and last week I made a 33% realised net gain on the $100 Jan puts.

Is it worthwhile capitalising on the 'sell on news' in January or are results too unpredictable. What do others think?
cheers to all,
Angelo
