If you observed his antics over the past years, you can't help but notice how much he craved attention,and how much he tried to affect a sort of financial "James Bond" persona.

Yes, there was enough public info on these scams, but I think Anthony enjoyed the idea of getting involved with the FBI rogue agent. I believe he craved the aura of excitement as much as he wanted the money.

He was a narcissist, and ultimately - like many failed con-artists - he was tripped up by his own hubris.
