Oral, for last year's VRWC party, I just walked in the door of the Venetian and asked for a room for three nights. The upshot is that I paid substantially less than others in our group. Maybe it was because I arrived late in the evening and the Venetian still had lots of empty rooms.

I have also heard rumors that Las Vegas hotels are linked by a computer system, running in realtime, which tracks room occupancies and vacancies and instantly adjusts room prices based on that info, not unlike a Wall Street stock ticker. - Holly
