As I've been tracking, it hasn't just been jawboning that has caused the USD to stabilize, it's been real heroin and Audrey plant food withdrawal, and you shouldn't miss that. Monetary policy isn't just about the cost of money, it's also the supply of it, and that's been removed post- Dec. 8th. They will deal with the cost aspect next week. Two sizeable temp adds today replaces 5.5 billion, ny.frb.org explains the stock market rally (and USD drop). I sold my Jan puts on Friday, and haven't bought the Febs yet. I'm mostly interested in how they play the expiring repos on 2/1, and whether they use coupon passes in the intervening period.
