<isn't the opposite also true? the dollar will get trashed and people will pile into their real goods trades?>

Did I not express this clearly, as I thought that's what I said? Measured tightening= spec flucht in die sachwerte, USD trashing. Stay in an actual tightening mode (as opposed to MoP activities) the USD may get support, and stabilize. 50 bps would be brilliant, even I would be impressed.

Somebody asked me about juniors and 50 bps. My feeling is that the names I'm using discount $325 POG, and prices zero blue sky potential for takeovers, or additional discovery. I'm willing to take the risk based on valuation.

I was in Vancouver for the gold conference on Sunday and Monday, and asked all these companies about enhancing shareholder value. I heard a lot of our doors are open talk, followed by changing the subject to "the next drill hole target". There is a pervasive slot machine mentality here that you really have to wonder about it. I had a good chat with Rich Little of OZN, and would have to say he appears to have a masterplan in Mali, and I would say increasingly "the goods". Price at 1.10 isn't terribly cheap, but quite reasonable.
