I do not generally endorse torture. I consider there to be exigent circumstances where one does not have a lot of time to work on interrogation, and the chance of getting the relevant information in time is worth what might be considered torture. I presume only that he is likely to know where I can find the ticking bomb. I cannot say for certain, and he is not "in control" of the bomb. I just need information to stop it, and he is my only hope. I am of the "Sippowicz" school of interrogation: if a kid may die without timely information, and the perp is holding out, you are justified in smacking him around.
