"So, you don't have doubt over the impending Civil War?"
Umm, kind of a double negative thing goin' on there. Let's see... Yes, I do have doubts.
I have little doubt about continuing terrorism after the election (for how long, is the question), but it is far from certain that it will escalated into full-blown civil war. Of course, it all depends on your definition of civil war. Some say it's already a civil war.
BTW, your common dreams link is broken. And isn't the Wash Times the paper lefties loved to dismiss during the election?
As for the Ignatius column, a hard news source would be better than an opinion columnist to prove a point. I've never read him before, so I don't know how credible he is, but the article was mostly "anonymous authority" arguments, guilt by association, and speculation with little in the way of substantive, hard facts. I do not believe that a majority of Iraq's Shia want to become a client state of Iran, or even an Iranian-styled theocracy. Sistani himself has said that's not his goal. Maybe he's lying, but that's not a persuasive argument without factual evidence.
PS: Stop worrying about a draft. That's nothing but a Demo-myth. |
