It has been recognized by millions of civilized people that Byrd's racist background is appalling. Yet he gets a pass by liberals when he continues to display that racism...... I agree. Byrd's biggest current problem is not that he once held views compatible with the kkk. His problem is that he still holds them. He has not changed. Laws have changed. Society has changed. Yet Byrd still cloaks hisself in klan verbage. He is a dinosaur.
