Thank you for that. It had a different effect than you might have expected. This echoes some of my concerns from a year and a half ago. I could not find the posts, but liberals on these boards pooh poohed my concerns about the archeological history. The area between the Tigris and Euphrates hold the oldest (discovered) archeological evidence of permanent encampments, and of the first written "word"s.

Saddam had artillery on top of a significant 6,000-year-old mound. US troops raced to save the treasures at the Baghdad museum. Looters have done great damage. It appears that so have US troops. Of course, if terrorists were not attacking coalition troops, little if any of the sandbag filling, etc would have been required.

You are correct that it takes the story and spins it from the left. It would fit right in the NYT. It actually sounds like a story from NPR. IMO any of the big liberal FMSM could have produced this.
