This is not a political post. I am just wondering how this weekend's election is going to effect the markets monday.

This election is going to be an historical event.

It is the first time that unknown voters are going to vote for unidentified candidates at undisclosed polling places for offices of unclear responsibilities.

So would that allow the US to claim "victory" and gracefully leave? That should be very positive for the markets, right?

On the other hand, if we have a tet style offensive where everyone of these secret polling places are blown sky high, that got to have some negative effect on sentiments and probably oil prices, no?

Again, I am not inviting political discussions nor am I trying to debate who is right or wrong. I am simply trying to position myself going into this event. Could that be the train wreck?
