Well, the books definitely have sold well. IMO despite, not because of, the dreadful sex scenes.

I've read some contemporary criticism of her books. Seems that editor wasn't alone in doubting people would be buying what she was selling. Turns out Ms Rand was on a pretty resonate frequency.
