Try this little test in your hometown..

I just got home from the Coeur d'Alene mall... It is called the Silver Lake Mall but it is in Coeur d'Alene. A month ago I tried this same question at the recruiting office in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Tonight, I stopped to visit the Army recruiting office. Two men were on duty. I identified myself, showed them my military ID and asked for a straight answer to this question. "Are you seeing any slowdown in recruiting?"

The answer was a wry smile and a quick, "Yes, definitely."

I told them I had read the National Guard and Reserves were experiencing recruiting shortfalls too. One of the sergeants said, "That is true. We also can't fill active duty quotas. It is not just us and is not just the Army. The Marines are having recruiting shortfalls now too." He went on to explain that recruiting command is adding personnel to recruiting stations everywhere.
