Hi, redfish! Yes, I saw Million Dollar Baby awhile ago. I have no idea why--it was a total fluke. The mother of a friend at work somehow had four free tickets to the preview where the critics review the movie that she couldn't use, and so I got them. I thought at least that the movie would open the next day or something, but it didn't. So I had no one to even discuss it with except my family who went with me. This is an amazingly good movie, I thought. Clint Eastwood has really developed into a fine director. I don't exactly care for Hillary Swank, but her performance in this role was amazing. The actors turned into their characters, something that is always encouraging in my opinion. It is complex and depressing, and captures Missouri rednecks really well also. In fact, it captures everything really well. I would say it could be the best movie of the year, because it is a big movie compared to, say, Sideways. But I haven't seen Aviator or Ray or the Neverland movie yet.
