Q1 historical average seasonaltiy is minus ten percent for CPG. Holding GM under this assumption is very optimistic. The fact Bob guides SG&A down as much as he did is not exactly an indication he expects much more than seasonality.

Refering to your previous posting wrt Flash, the strategy outlined in the one you answered to rather indicates the opposite: Aggressively going for revenues to gain shares back bys diving prices down to variable costs in the embedded segment implies holding revenues flat, reducing inventories - but increasing losses. Maybe I am over-interpreting Hectors remark that loosing _only_ 39M at 500M revenues is to be considered relatively good if I take it as preparing the audience for what he expects will follow - and as well what he did _not_ say he believes "the worst is over".

I am not saying it is hopeless to see a breakeven quarter at this point. It's just I'd consider it as an optimistic scenario currently.

p.s.: For the board's reaction, I do miss the usual comments about Hectors guidance to be overly conservative, and somewhat understated. I guess that is about as bearish as it can get. :)
