It is your opinion that recruiting is going badly. It is your supposition that this will begin to impede our ability to prosecute the war. JLA, who also has an impressive military background, gave you a contradictory opinion.

But let’s assume you turn out to be correct. What this indicates is that the Administration is loosing the American people. The same thing happened in Vietnam. Then, our leaders took the easy route and gave the military carte blanche to grab many bodies as they claimed they needed to complete the mission. Didn’t work, we lost the war anyway.

Same thing could happen today. A draft is no solution. It is a crutch the political leadership can grasp onto to avoid the hard job of selling Americans on the need for war, and in the plan the leadership has to win it.
