You are an old fart, when I joined up my father paid $4,000.01 for a Ford LTD. I remember my father writing the check for 4 large and then handing the salesman a penny which the salesman said forget it.

When I got married I got a class 6 card which meant booze was cheaper than the mix. Also got us a room in the BOQ, bed, hot plate and shared a bathroom. Fried Spam and made macaroni and cheese in the same pot. Sex was good, should have stayed in the army.
