CNR, Brutal indeed! I don't know if you read the Yahoo board on CNR, but prior to stop loss clean out a poster by the name of Cashgripper will make a single post about pps direction or weakness and then the run begins. I try to pay attention to him so as to sell some at the high and then pick some up when they let their foot off. In this case it was good for a 12% spread. My guess is he is a Hedge fund dude and they short after a recent run and walk it down, setting off sell stops and cover and go long again, thus making a cool 24% for a weeks work. Not bad work if ya can get it. I picked up on him when I was long SNG, it was like clock work. Every couple weeks. Back on a particularly spectacular raid on Feb 18 '04, he posted on a Saturday that the raid would occur on Tues at 10:00 AM, it did and he made me a believer. Back then he went by the name of Vermont Vern. Needless to say not all of their attempts are successful, thus I never sell may core position for the day trade. He used to really piss me off, now I welcome the extra trading shares his efforts provide. FWIW Best to Ya.
