An excellent post, Pat,
That is exactly how I feel. You are right on with this quote, IMO, although I do not view it as scary...:) "The true impact of our "spiritual side" has yet to be revealed and is profoundly dynamic...........yet very scary. It will solve many mysteries of the human existence."
It seems to me the most 'religious' are the least 'spiritual' because religion comes from the 'outside' and is taught, while 'spirituality come from 'within' and is develop there. So the problem, IMO, is that before a young child has time to get in touch and start to understand it's own spirit, organized 'religion' comes along and is taught by outsiders, parents, clergy, peers, etc. AS spirituality and it 'masks' and smothers the TRUE meaning of spiritualty. And therefore it never can develop, but the person THINKS of it as spirituality.
And that causes the big problem, IMO, because since their(the organized religious peoples <g>) 'religion' was taught from the 'outside', these people are tehn susceptible to other potentially harmful 'outside' teachings. Like being told to go to war for their God, whoever that may be..:(

PS. Kind of discombobulated post but I hope you get the idea. Heck, I have went from tennis to economics to religion in an hour and half.. My mind is churning..LOL..
