Hi Searle: The Vietnam disaster showed the limits of the US military then and now. Blaming the people on the home front is a convenient way to avoid the conclusion that the US military is great in the air but not on the ground. Bradleys and even Abrams are potential torches and everything else more so. After that the inability of the US media to accept any casualties is the next weak point.

One should not forget that in WW1 the cheese eating surrender monkeys lost an average of about 900 soldiers a day every day for 4 years or so. And the US media has convinced the viewers that 1200 is a defeat after 18 months or so.

I don't know enough about the fall of the Roman Empire to make a definitive statement but it seems to my superficial knowledge that the differences are not great.
