Perplexing are those who can't figure Verdad out, yet debate, infinitum, RinConRon. Certainly if there was no basis to the published articles, legal briefs, etc., an audience as discerning as ours would have better things to do.
My wife and I lost a lot of money, so we don't mind. It helps put into perspective some of the bogus information we keep hearing in the press. We're not alone.
We'd like to have a financial market to 'look for the next hit'; unfortunately, the system has taken quite a shock because of schlocky investors, politicians and businessmen who, for reasons of greed and special interest, made critical thinking, public debate and business analysis all 'sins'. SI is of little value if it does not facilitate discourse (as opposed to stifle it).
Hell, there might even be something to be learned aside from, "We got screwed--suck it up". FWIW, I sleep better when I express myself and take steps to understand why I feel the way I do, rather than repressing emotions. Contrary to what Western society believes, decisions are as much emotional as rational--ask Maurice! |
